Auburn football has a long history of turning out NFL prospects at the EDGE or defensive end position. Bert Watts assumes the role of outside linebacker/EDGE coach for the new Bryan Harsin staff and has made a huge impact on a potential 4-star prospect in the 2022 class while he was visiting the Plains this past weekend.

Tyreese Fearbry is a 4-star EDGE prospect out of Pittsburgh, PA and ranks as the #254 overall prospect and #12 EDGE player in the 2022 class. He is scheduled to make his commitment on July 4th and the final schools look to be Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Penn State, & Auburn. He visited Pittsburgh on June 4th, Kentucky on June 11th, Penn State on June 18th, and Auburn received his last official visit this past weekend, which could be a huge advantage for the Tigers.

Fearbry caught up with Brian Dohn from 247Sports and had this to say about his visit to the Plains:

"“It was a unique experience. I’ve never been down south, never been to Alabama before. It was good. Great coaching staff, great players. I just loved everything about the environment.”"

Fearbry also spoke about Coach Harsin and Coach Watts:

"“They would use me as a stand up outside linebacker mainly to the left side. They are all great coaches. I spent a lot of time with Coach Harsin. Just being around the coaches, especially around the head coach, that’s a big thing.”“You can tell what they are trying to do is a big thing to change Auburn into a winning school. They want to win National Championships. I think every school wants to win a national championship, so that’s what I see.”"

Auburn football has placed itself squarely in the race for Fearbry and may have a shot at stealing one of the best prospects out of Pennsylvania before they head to Happy Valley in September to square up with Penn State. This may be a Penn State-Auburn battle, so stay tuned July 4th to see where Fearbry decides to take his talent at the next level.
