Auburn football portal target #4: David Anderton, OL, USF

David Anderton is in the same boat as Anthony Shipton. The 3-star recruit from Orlando never saw the field in 2020, even despite his USF Bulls going 1-8 in a season filled with either blowouts or heartbreakingly close losses.

Anderton only spoke with USF and Florida State in his recruitment, perhaps signaling a desire to not stray far from the City Beautiful. If he expands his horizons just a bit northwest into Alabama, Auburn football offers him a chance to earn time on the field.

Auburn football portal target #5: Seleti Fevaleaki, DL, BYU

Seleti Fevaleaki has mostly been recruited out west, but Bryan Harsin, a man of the northwest himself, may have the chops and platform to pull Fevaleaki south.

A pivotal piece on last season’s Cougars, Fevaleaki was a top name on the totem pole for the BYU DL. His loss will hurt, as Cougs Daily’s Casey Lundquist put it:

"In this era of college football, every school loses players to the transfer portal. BYU is no exception. In most cases, however, BYU loses players that are not expected to play meaningful snaps. That is not the case with Fevaleaki. Without Fevaleaki in the fold, BYU’s depth along the defensive line becomes more concerning."

He will be missed in Provo, but he could be valued on the Plains.
