Auburn football projected passing touchdown leader: Bo Nix, QB

This category really comes down to who ends up winning the battle under center this summer between the incumbent Auburn legacy QB Bo Nix, and the LSU transfer that struggled mightily on the Bayou in 2020, TJ Finley.

Don’t get it twisted. No one around these parts would write Finley off from starting, and national analysts have gone out on the limb of predicting that the six-foot-six rocket-armed QB would overtake Nix for the job.

But Nix was once projected to be a top 2022 NFL Draft pick. There’s an overwhelmingly strong chance he won’t be that next April, but he should do enough to claim the starting job in year three after a sophomore slump in 2020.

Auburn football projected rushing touchdown leader: Tank Bigsby, RB

Tank Bigsby’s freshman season didn’t produce a ton of end zone scores, but this year should be different. There will be more games, and tune-up bouts against non-conference opponents are back on the docket after a conference-only slate in 2020.

Games against Akron, Alabama State, and Georgia State are more likely to produce Tank Bigsby goal-line and breakaway scores than Bo Nix sneaks resulting in six. Nix had two more touchdowns on the ground than Bigsby in 2020, but the odds are low that the tide will turn this season considering the increased workload Tank will likely take on.
