Bo Nix took the stage at SEC Media Days this afternoon for Auburn football and the pressure for the junior quarterback was at an all-time high. Nix might be one of the most highly criticized players in the country and many experts and fans were excited to see what the Auburn signal caller had to say about new head coach Bryan Harsin, Mike Bobo, and much more.

Nix was asked about the criticism and the pressure he has faced since he won the QB1 job before the 2019 season and seems to be embracing the role and the pressure that comes along with the Auburn football starting QB role:

"“No matter what you do in life, you could be the most influential person in the country, you could change so many lives, but there’s always going to be that one person who thinks you could do better.”"

A stir was caused earlier this week when new Auburn football defensive lineman Tony Fair posted a tweet referencing the Iron Bowl rivalry between the Tigers and Crimson Tide and Fair did not mince his words.

This led to Nix having to respond to many questions about Fair’s quote and Nix did not back down and echoed Fair’s sentiment:

"“That quote, obviously, is a confident quote. I hope he’s coming to take the head off the elephant…. I like that quote. I know a lot of people want us to be scared of Alabama, but we’re not.”"

Nix was also asked about whether he thought about leaving Auburn after Gus Malzahn was fired, but Nix shot the idea down immediately:

"“I chose Auburn because I wanted to grow as a person and grow as a player…. I’ve grown a lot. I’ve grown in ways I didn’t even know I could grow.”"

TJ Finley transferring to the Tigers had many wondering if a QB competition would be brewing on the Plains and Nix spoke highly of Finley’s arrival to the Plains:

"“TJ is a good transfer for us. He’s a big, strong guy with a good arm and a fast release. I’m doing everything I can to help him learn the offense, because I know it was for me starting out and the kind of offense he’s coming from.”"

Overall, Nix has been impressive in front of the media at SEC Media Days and has oozed confidence in his answers and demeanor throughout the day. Many experts have suggested that Nix could be the breakout star of the SEC this season and Harsin could do wonders for Nix’s development.
