SEC Media Days wrapped up yesterday in Hoover, AL and Auburn football closed the show down with Bryan Harsin, Bo Nix, and Owen Pappoe representing the Tigers at the event. Nix showed a large amount of confidence in the Tigers and Harsin dominated the media session in their first SEC Media Days appearances.

The media votes their choices for the All-SEC Preseason team and their votes for the projected final standings for the 2021 season while at the event. The results were released today and the Tigers had a whopping 10 Preseason All-SEC selections for the 2021 season.

1st Team Selections: Tank Bigsby (RB) & Nick Brahms (C)

2nd Team Selections: Zakoby McClain (LB), Smoke Monday (DB), & Tank Bigsby (AP Special Teams)

3rd Team Selections: Bo Nix (QB), Derrick Hall (DL), Owen Pappoe (LB), Roger McCreary (DB), & Anders Carlson (K)

Alabama led the way with 16 players picked for the Preseason All-SEC Teams, while Georgia and Auburn were tied for 2nd with 10 players selected and Texas A&M was 3rd with 7 players selected.

This is an excellent sign for the Tigers going into the 2021 season, because many experts seem to be overlooking Auburn football in Bryan Harsin’s 1st year. The Tigers were also picked to finish 5th in the SEC West, which puts them behind Ole Miss, LSU, Texas A&M, & Alabama in the division. The media chose Alabama and Georgia to win their respective divisions and represent the SEC in Atlanta. Auburn did not receive any 1st place votes in the media poll.

Auburn football has been overlooked before and exceeded the expectations of everyone in the country. Bo Nix and Tank Bigsby have the potential to be one of the best QB-RB duos in the SEC, while Owen Pappoe and Zakoby McClain may be the best linebacker tandem in the country. This Auburn team is extremely talented and should not be overlooked by anyone entering the 2021 season.
