Auburn football: 2 SEC schools to relegate to make room for OU and UT

Texas A&M’s departure would only benefit Auburn football and themselves…

It appears that Texas A&M is none too happy about the Texas Longhorns making their way back into their lives via a jump to the SEC. While not wanting to renew the Lone Star Showdown after being on the wrong end of a 76-37-5 record all-time vs UT is definitely on the Aggies’ minds, it appears that what’s at the forefront of their displeasure is a supposed breach of trust with the SEC.

As Longhorns Wire’s Kevin Borba explains, TAMU isn’t a fan of the fact that they didn’t know about Texas’ talks with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey:

"What does this reveal? It is a revelation that the rest of the SEC views Texas A&M as the little kid who is not yet mature enough to sit at the adult table during Thanksgiving dinner, and that they do not care what they have to say. It has been reported that these meetings have been happening for the past six months, and Texas A&M found out … checks watch … when Jimbo Fisher took the podium at SEC media days two days ago like the rest of the world."

TAMU is organizing a Board of Regents meeting this coming Monday to discuss these issues, and it sounds as though issues with the SEC are brewing in College Station.

If that is the case, perhaps they should tuck their tails and take their act back west so that they can be the perennial conference favorite once more.
