Program #2 we’d like to see join Auburn football in the SEC: Georgia Tech

I don’t believe there’s too many Auburn fans that wouldn’t welcome regular trips to Atlanta to reignite the old-standing rivalry AU used to have with the Georgia Tech Yellowjackets.

A rivalry that dates back to the 1800s–when students on the Plains famously greased the railroad tracks of the opposing 1896 Yellowjackets team’s train heading into town before the Tigers claimed a 45-0 victory–certainly has a place in the modern SEC.

It’d be fun to wreck Tech more after Auburn football took a 47-41 series victory following their most recent matchup in 2005 (admittedly a loss), and given their proximity up I-85, fans would be able to flood each opposing stadium.

Atlanta is a hotbed for major college football happenings, and having Georgia Tech in conference again would bring nostalgia to plenty of more seasoned veterans of both fanbases.

After almost 60 years way, the SEC should be willing to invite a team representing one of the biggest markets in the south back into the fold.
