The day has finally arrived for 4-star, class of 2022 running back Damari Alston to make his official college decision, and it looks as though he may end up committing to Auburn football.

One of the top running back targets for first-year head coach Bryan Harsin and his staff, Alston released a top three earlier this month of Northwestern, LSU, and Auburn. The #28 RB in the recruiting class of 2022 and the #27 recruit out of the state of Georgia, Alston will be committing at 1:00 p.m. central time.

Alston visited the Plains back in June and came away with a vision of opportunity for himself with the Auburn football program. He isn’t intimidated by the likes of Tank Bigsby and Shaun Shivers, but instead wants to play with and learn from those guys:

"“They’re just telling me to make sure I know I’m a priority for them,” Alston said. “They need me here. The main thing they kept saying is they need to get Tank some help. I know they got Shaun Shivers but he’s leaving after this year because he’s a senior. They want a good 22 guy, or two of them. I see opportunity here.”"

247Sports’ Crystal Ball Projection contains five predictions, each sending Alston to the Plains with 100 percent certainty. Not only that, but SEC insider Jake Crain of The JBoy Show conducted an interview with the 4-star recruit and when asked how he felt about Alston choosing the Tigers, he had a good answer:

Alston told JBoy that Auburn football landed in his top three due to the great coaching staff. He also sees it as a great opportunity to play early, in addition to the great family atmosphere. Should Alston choose the Tigers, running backs coach Cadillac Williams will have a loaded roster with Bigsby, Shaun Shivers, Jarquez Hunter, and Alston.
