Auburn football: SEC fans post conference rules for Oklahoma, Texas

The college football landscape is changing rapidly, so fans of Oklahoma and Texas better be able to keep up. They asked to join the Southeastern Conference, college football’s most elite league and home to 11 national championships since 2005–one of which was won by our very own Auburn football program.

Oklahoma and Texas are headed to the SEC, but are they ready for the grit of the conference? Along with carrying on some of the best traditions, SEC teams are some of the country’s most physical and talented football teams with the most passionate fans.

Twitter user @AuburnBlazer did Big-12-turned-SEC fans a huge favor by compiling a list of the most important things to know about being an SEC fan, prompting fan reactions from various teams and conferences around the country.

The SEC is the best conference in collegiate sports–we all know it, and SEC fans aren’t afraid to admit it. But, that’s not to say that we can’t poke fun at ourselves from time to time:

But hey! Conference pride is part of being the SEC, the conference where it just means more. More teams, more money, and probably a more difficult schedule for Auburn football in the coming years. Oklahoma and Texas are quickly going to have to get used to the idea of playing multiple top-10 teams every year on their schedules or they won’t last long in the SEC.

Both teams will likely remain in the Big-12 for at least one more season before taking up residence in the SEC.
