Auburn football: Damari Alston says more commits coming this week
Auburn football 2022 4-star RB commit Damari Alston is bringing a sense of pride to the Plains that is on par with 2022 4-star QB commit Holden Geriner’s. The skill-position pair wants AU to dominate on the recruiting class, and have done everything within their power to sway their peers to the Plains.
Alston recently joked about being the Auburn football Director of Recruiting–don’t worry Darren Uscher, your job is secure–because of how involved he is with other recruits.
Well, Alston is projecting some big things for the class very soon. He believes that the Tigers are set to have themselves a week.
Per his Twitter:
Auburn football’s 2022 recruiting rank is low at the moment, sitting at #63 on 247Sports’ 2022 team rankings. Right ahead of them is a school from the MAC (Central Michigan) and former head coach Gus Malzahn’s UCF Knights. Jumping ahead of Malzahn, in particular, would boost confidence in Bryan Harsin’s regime in his first recruiting cycle.
Alston named three guys by name that he believes AU will be landing this coming week:
The ATL product is seen as a gateway to other recruits in the area, but the aforementioned list includes high school stars from Alabama, Tennessee, and even Oregon. If he is to be believed (and why wouldn’t he be), the Tigers are about to find themselves rocketing up the rankings and amplifying the hype for the 2022 season.
Don’t think that excitement wouldn’t carry over to the 2021 season either. With the Plains fully operational again, a notoriously tough Jordan-Hare Stadium could return to being a serious home-field advantage that propels the program to underdog upsets.
It’s an exciting time to be a Tiger fan. This week could turn the tide and solidify Auburn football as a recruiting power in the Harsin era.
