Auburn football has been gaining momentum on the recruiting trail recently, and the commitment of 4-star running back Damari Alston gifted the Tigers a student recruiter to join Holden Geriner’s push for Auburn. As July comes to an end and we’re officially one month away from the beginning of college football, more and more recruits are gearing up to make their final decisions.

4-star defensive lineman Caden Story is one of those recruits, and the Tigers are hoping to celebrate when he announces his destination at 11:30 a.m. central time today, which is pushed back half an hour from his original time.

Story’s cousin Micah Pollard was also a major Tigers target this summer, but he chose Michigan over Auburn earlier this month.

Now, Caden Story is down to two schools: Auburn and UCF. It’s turning into a battle of Harsin vs. Malzahn, and it will be coming to an end very soon. With utmost confidence in his Auburn Tigers, Damari Alston replied to Story’s announcement tweet joking that the DL would choose UCF:

While it appears that Story did not take the bait and interact with Alston’s tweet, it definitely got the attention of the Auburn family, who are waiting in anticipation to see where Story ends up:

Story took official visits to Texas A&M, UCF, and Auburn, but cut the Aggies in his final two on July 16. The Lanett, AL native is currently ranked as the #10 recruit in the state of Alabama and the #30 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2022. Should he choose Auburn football, he would become the eighth commit on the Tigers’ 2022 roster and the first defensive lineman to commit to the program.
