Auburn football fans have gotten to watch the SEC go through all sorts of changes since the conference’s inception–one that included a founding member in East Central Alabama–and are now seeing some of the most radical realignment the sport has ever seen.

Texas and Oklahoma making the jump from the Big 12 to the winningest conference in college football is already shaking things up in previously unforeseen ways, but their exodus and arrival may just be the beginning.

Clemson and Florida State have been in the news today for news of them speaking about making such a jump themselves to the SEC. While Jack McGuire of Barstool brought it up already, today’s report from Marc Ryan adds even more fuel to the fire.

Well, count Gig Em Gazette, FanSided’s Texas A&M sister site, among those that aren’t all that high on the potential of the SEC adding even more teams.

As GEG’s Jack Williams points out, it could become a matter of oversaturation soon with all of the talent flocking to just one conference and leaving the rest high and dry:

"With Texas and Oklahoma, it seemed like a great move for college football. Bring two more great rivalries to the SEC and make the conference undeniably the best in college football. With the addition of Florida State and Clemson, however, things might be taken a step too far. With these two teams in the conference, the SEC would have 15 of the last 16 college football national champions in their conference. There would be little to no competition in college football and rather than having “Power 5” conferences, you’d have a “Power 1” in the SEC."

It’s understandable for TAMU fans to not be as excited about all of these teams joining the SEC and taking the shine away from the Aggies’ own realignment in 2012.

What do you think, Auburn football fans? Do you want to see Clemson and Florida State on the schedule regularly?
