As the saying goes, you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Auburn football fans, Big Kat Bryant is now a villain on the Plains.
The UCF-Auburn football rivalry has been brewing in the months following Gus Malzahn’s arrival in Orlando, and a former Tiger-turned-Knight has now taken the rivalry a step further.
Big Kat Bryant, who amassed 55 career tackles during his four-year career on the Plains, said UCF would beat Auburn “for sure” when talking about how the Knights would fare if they were to join the SEC.
Per Brandon Helwig of Rivals:
Former Auburn DE Big Kat Bryant, who transferred to UCF this summer, was posed an interesting question from @BianchiWrites: How does he think UCF would fare in the SEC?

Big Kat: "Right now? We'd beat somebody like Auburn for sure."

Needless to say, Auburn football fans didn’t appreciate his bold callout considering the perspective it was coming from:
This guy average a whopping 1.5 tackles per game in his 4 year Auburn career 😂

Dude couldn’t even register 20 tackles in a season at Auburn.

Imo you shouldn’t do the smack talking unless you yourself can back it up w/your individual play. 🤷🏻♂️
Tell me you’re an SEC bust without actually telling me you’re an SEC bust

Truthfully, his comments are exactly what he needed to say. He’s a former Tiger, and he followed his head coach to his new school. Why would he not bring up Auburn, knowing full well the engagement he’d get for doing so?
It’s up to Bryan Harsin and co. to make sure these comments look foolish next time a departed transfer is asked about playing Auburn football.
