Auburn football EDGE Derick Hall was having none of Big Kat Bryant’s comments about his old program not measuring up to his new one.
The UCF transfer had a lot to say, mainly getting across the point that he doesn’t think much of the Tigers anymore.
After following Gus Malzahn to Orlando, Bryant has been a part of a cultural push from UCF’s faithful that this team is going to overcome its Group of Five designation and vault itself back into the National Championship conversation.
Hall felt Icarus flew a little too close to the sun with his line of think:
This led to more input from Bryant, who subtweeted the situation:
It’s pretty difficult to sift through said pudding, as all we have to judge the Bryan Harsin Tigers and Gus Malzahn Knights by are their respective spring games. Both squads have seen a ton of turnover and even lost a few former stars to the NFL Draft, so last year’s results only count for so much.
A central theme for both teams is whether or not the man under center can fulfill his promise. The premise for Bo Nix and Dillon Gabriel’s junior years are far different, though, as Nix is looking to get back on track after a sophomore slump and Gabriel is looking to continue the track of improvement he is on.
On the other end, both defenses will see major transfers join the fray and their fits with the veteran units they’ll be joining will be pivotal. Bryant is the headline addition on the front seven for UCF, while Eku Leota is the biggest non-secondary threat on the defensive side that came via the transfer portal.
Hall had 21 tackles last season, which is more than Bryant ever had and he did it in just seven games.
If you were wondering where Hall was coming from when he responded to Bryant’s Auburn football call-out.
