Auburn football RB Shaun Shivers holds himself and backfield mate Tank Bigsby in very high regard.

Like, very high regard.

The senior rusher believes that he and the Heisman hopeful sophomore recking ball Bigsby are a historically dominant ground unit for Auburn football.

He has to, otherwise, he wouldn’t be comparing the pair to Cadillac Williams and Ronnie Brown:

As fall camp opens, and the Tigers prepare for one of the most important seasons of the 21st century, there is no shortage of confidence from Shivers. Following a season in which Alabama won their third title of the six-year history of the College Football Playoff and all but a few thousand fans were allowed in the stadium every week, Auburn football enters 2021 with a first-year head coach and a lot of doubt of whether or not they can maintain their modest standing in the SEC from 2020.

Where you won’t find doubt is from Shivers in himself and his teammate. He believes that Bigsby is as reliable as it gets with the ball in his hands:

Shivers is saying all of the right things heading into his final season on the Plains during the upcoming 2021 school year.

Well, at least in terms of what you want to hear from a senior running back known for standing up for himself and his teammates. You can debate whether or not the current RB room stacks up with Williams and Brown, who both became top 5 NFL Draft picks.
