Potential Auburn football trap game #2: Arkansas
The Tigers’ foray into Fayetteville on October 16th could be overlooked after an upset against Georgia or LSU (who may not be seen as an upset by then) the previous two weeks. Arkansas hasn’t been good in arguably a decade and hasn’t been Auburn football since 2015.
That said, perhaps there is a surprising step forward in 2021 from the Hogs. Their offense has boom potential if KJ Jefferson could bottle his electric performance last season against Missouri and extrapolate it over a full season.
Arkansas Rivals’ Andrew Hutchinson believes Jefferson could be the missing piece in an explosive offense:
"Treylon Burks is one of the best receivers in the country, Trelon Smith is a versatile running back, the entire two-deep on the offensive line is back and there are several other unproven, yet talented, pieces on that side of the ball. The biggest question mark is seemingly at quarterback."
Don’t let Arkansas’ bottom 25 defense let you think this team can’t have one massive Saturday offensively, catching a Tigers defense sleeping and potentially send the Tigers into a tailspin riding a three-loss streak heading into the bye.
