There are two Auburn football rivalries most should agree need to be resurrected and then kept alive as an annual tradition as soon as possible.

The first is an I85 rivalry that has been dormant for more than 15 years: Georgia Tech and Auburn football. AU lost the only two games that have been played between the two this millennium in 2003 and 2005. Of course, the Tigers had won the previous nine, dating back to 1979.

The second is one that was pretty active during the 2010s and is one of the dozens of ‘Tiger Bowls’ college football can hold on any given Saturday: Clemson vs. Auburn football.

Clemson took four of the five last matchups including the last four in 2011, 2012, 2016, and 2017 en route to becoming the second most dominant team of the College Football Playoff behind Alabama.

Again, though, refer to the previous 14 Auburn victories if you’re wondering how the rivalry went before that.

These rivalries make sense from a geographical perspective, and Fly War Eagle would love to poach the top programs from the ACC after the SEC raided the Big 12 for Texas and Oklahoma’s conference membership.

We want them back, and so does FWE friend Big Game Boomer:

Noted Auburn Twitter account All Aubarn even believes BGB forgot another Auburn-related rivalry for his rankings:

Of course, there were those who think that even one Auburn football rivalry listed is too much:

Regardless, Fly War Eagle is in favor of annual trips to Atlanta and Clemson for big money matchups, just as the ever polarizing (but always entertaining) Big Game Boomer is.
