The recruiting game is still on in regards to Auburn football’s recruiting class of 2022. Though the Tigers are no longer at the bottom of the barrel in the SEC when it comes to rankings, the second-to-last place isn’t much better. However, Harsin and his inaugural coaching staff are still fighting for top players in the class of 2022.

The most recent commits to next season’s roster are safety Tre Donaldson and ATH Omari Kelly, who is expected to play wide receiver for the Tigers. Both 4-star athletes committed to play for Auburn football on August 19, bumping the Tigers up to #38 nationally and #13 in the SEC.

For most, the most immediate concern for the Tigers is the offensive line. Though the OL is full of talented and experienced returners, the bottom line is that they have to improve in 2021 and onward. Harsin knows the pressure is on and is working to add top-notch OL recruits to the future rosters.

Harsin and his staff showed up fashionably late to the Malik Agbo party, offering the 4-star OT a scholarship just yesterday. The Washington native is the #26 OT in the recruiting class of 2022 and released his top five schools back in July. LSU, Miami, Florida, Oklahoma, and Arizona State are currently the frontrunners in Agbo’s recruitment.

According to SB Live, Agbo intends to make his final decision in December and wants to have visited all five of his top schools before then. The offer from Auburn football probably won’t change Agbo’s timeline, but he has plenty of time to take a trip to the Plains during the season and is not tied to those five schools.

Jeffrey Lee of On3 Sports’ Auburn Live reports that the OT is already planning an official visit in the month of November:

"“I’m looking at taking a visit down there in November,” Agbo said. “I’m really looking hard at the weekend of Nov. 13, the home game against Mississippi State.”"

For many recruits, it’s important to see Bryan Harsin’s coaching in real-time as he does not have an established reputation in the SEC. Agbo would be a major commitment for the Tigers if the Harsinal can sway his decision.
