Auburn football’s recruiting class of 2022 is finally starting to take shape. Ranked second-to-last in the SEC and 39th nationally, first-year head coach Bryan Harsin and his staff have secured 11 commits so far.

Another commitment could be secured on Monday morning when Auburn target Jacob Hood, a 3-star offensive tackle out of Tennessee, makes his college decision. Several more 2022 targets are expected to commit during the season after visiting the Plains for gameday.

Though Auburn football has not yet returned to the Plains, high school football has already begun, and many of the Tigers’ recruits were showing off their skills on Friday night. Auburn’s second most highly ranked commit, QB Holden Geriner, had a solid performance in his first game of the season but Savannah Benedictine Military still lost 42-27. Geriner recorded 221 yards and three touchdowns in the game.

Damari Alston, 4-star Atlanta running back and Holden Geriner’s partner-in-crime when it comes to recruiting for the Tigers, entered his second game of the season with 156 yards and two touchdowns. He scored at least one touchdown in the game, which his team won 27-0.

Auburn football wide receiver commit Kobi Albert had a good night as well, pulling in four touchdown catches for 116 yards and rushing for 44 yards. On the defensive side, Albert had two tackles for loss and one interception, leading Fairfield to a victory over Center Point.

Omari Kelly and Hewett-Trussville beat Saraland 41-0 on Friday and Kelly ended the game with six catches for 145, including two touchdown receptions. The 4-star wide receiver is one of the Tigers’ most recent and highly ranked recruits.

If Bryan Harsin keeps recruiting at this pace, Auburn football should have plenty of talent on the roster in the coming years.
