Auburn football quarterback Bo Nix is currently playing his third season as the starting QB for the Tigers, and in those three seasons, he’s been to plenty of loud stadiums. As a freshman, Nix competed in some of the most daunting atmospheres in CFB, including LSU’s Death Valley, Florida’s The Swamp, and Texas A&M’s Kyle Field. Not to mention Bryant-Denny Stadium and UGA.

However, the Tigers are entering the week 3 matchup as the underdogs versus #10 Penn State, and lots of the pressure sits on Nix’s shoulders. After an almost-perfect season opener versus Akron, fans were disappointed with Auburn football’s sluggish start in the first half against Alabama State.

Bo Nix spent time on The Next Round to discuss the first two games and the state of the team leading up to the State College road trip. The Tigers’ QB1 told the show that he was appreciative of some sort of adversity for the team to fight through before facing a top-10 team. He says the offense set the bar extremely high versus Akron, and it was good to work through difficulties before Penn State.

Though Nix has some questionable away stats, he explained that they were a bit skewed due to the fact that so many of the Tigers’ road games were against ranked opponents (Georgia, LSU, Bama, etc.) but he does hope to improve and play better on the road this season.

When it comes to the whiteout atmosphere in Beaver Stadium, Nix isn’t worried. According to the junior quarterback, the best way to prepare for those situations is experience, and Nix is no stranger to loud stadium crowds. He cited his freshman game at Florida as the craziest environment he’s experienced and said playing in games like those is a dream.

Auburn football will kickoff against Penn State in Happy Valley on Saturday during primetime coverage at 6:30 p.m. central time.
