Auburn football fans saw the 2022 schedule drop, and many had revenge on their mind from this past Saturday’s Week 3 instant classic.

Though Tank Bigsby proved that he is a legitimate Heisman candidate with another 100-yard effort–assuming the Tigers get back on the winning track (and fast)–Penn State’s defense forced Bo Nix’s mistakes when it mattered most and Sean Clifford’s arm poked enough holes in the AU secondary (and the officiating was sure as hell spotty enough) for the 28-20 final to not go to the good guys.

The pilgrimage north to Happy Valley will be returned by Nittany Lions fans next September, who better all not have the negative experience from the opposing team’s students (the Nittany Lion alumni were a treat, though) next September 17th that some Tiger fans had this past weekend at State College, PA.

I believe in Auburn, so I trust that will be the case.

The game, the White Out, and everything that made this past weekend’s loss one that makes next year a must-see event. And Tiger fans were all over it in the replies to Auburn football’s 2022 schedule announcement:

Booking the Nittany Lions on the docket in back-to-back years where they are a College Football Playoff contender (currently ranked #6 in the AP Top 25) and have the #1 recruiting class (current 2022 #1 ranked) is a very Auburn thing to have happen.

But that’s what a spirit that is not afraid is about. Meeting one of the toughest schedules in the country year in and year out head on.

From Pat Dye to Tommy Tuberville to Bryan Harsin, it’s what has Auburn football has always been about.

See you next September, Penn State.
