The worst-case scenario is unfolding on the Plains right now as Auburn football trails Georgia State by two scores following halftime.
Trap game indeed. Touché Sports Illustrated.
The Tigers have been sloppy defensively, being called for several pass interference calls and ceding 142 rushing yards to Panthers RB Tucker Gregg at the half.
Offensively, Bo Nix has overthrown several receivers but has also had receivers straight up drop the ball.
Blame is to be had everywhere, and the Auburn family is losing their minds through this living nightmare:
🤦🏾♂️what’s going on bra?

This is the worst half of football I’ve ever witnessed

2012 Auburn thinks we played a pretty good half

For an Auburn football team that marched into Happy Valley and put up a fight against a Penn State Nittany Lions team that looks like a College Football Playoff contender, this week is a complete and utter culture shock.
What’s been most puzzling is the inability of Tank Bigsby and Jarquez Hunter to find the necessary holes to burst through for a patented highlight reel run. The Georgia State front seven held the Tigers RB room to under 100 yards rushing in the first half.
A loss to the Panthers would probably shut down any hopes of AU finishing the season ranked barring a miraculous run through the SEC West.
As we speak, the fate of a winning season may be hanging in the balance for Bryan Harsin and co.
