You can’t be too hard on Death Valley Voice, FanSided’s LSU sister site, for projecting an Auburn football loss at Tiger Stadium this Saturday.

There are more than two decades worth of evidence that suggest Baton Rouge is an easy place to beat the Tigers from the Plains.

LSU has had AU’s number on their home turf since 1999, the last time Auburn marched west and won on the Bayou.

Even with early-season struggles in a Week 1 loss to UCLA and in almost blowing it against Mississippi State, Zach Regan is projecting LSU to get the job done against Auburn football on Saturday night at 8 pm central:

"If LSU can play with great effort for 60 minutes, they shouldn’t have any issues against Auburn. The only thing that makes me nervous about this game is a late backdoor cover from Auburn (if LSU lets up like they did last week against Mississippi State). But with that said, I’m still taking LSU -3.5 and on the moneyline.I could see the final score of this game being in the 28-20 range."

The LSU game will be the first game for Eric Kiesau as the new WR coach under Bryan Harsin. Kiesau worked with Harsin before at Boise State and replaces Cornelius Williams on the staff.

Whether or not that means the 10 men on the field issues plaguing Auburn football early this year will go away remains to be seen. AU could receive a boost from the increased urgency after seeing a major change so quickly into the new season.

On the other hand, there’s the chance that the move has adverse effects on team morale. There’s no way to tell until the two teams line up this Saturday.

Finally, as for Regan’s prediction, who can really blame him it? The last time Auburn football won in Death Valley was when TLC were topping the Billboard charts.
