Saturday night saw a spectacular series of near-sacks become big plays for Auburn football QB Bo Nix. We knew Nix was mobile, but nobody thought he had that in him.
Evading several tacklers scurrying from sideline to sideline, Nix overcame shoddy OL play to turn in one of the most memorable performances from a personal standpoint in his three-year career on the Plains.
Was it Nix’s best win, though? In the context of which it happened, it has to be.
There was the end of the 22-year drought against LSU on the road. The comeback from down 13-0. Even a second straight week where Nix found himself on the bench after a slow start before returning to the Tigers backfield, collecting 255 yards through the air, another 76 on the ground, and a pair of touchdowns.
When Justin Hokanson of On3 Sports took to Twitter seeking the answer to the question of whether or not this was Nix’s best win as Auburn football’s QB1, Tiger many fans came to the conclusion that it was:
He lifted a 2 decade curse… this is his statement win

This one, without a doubt. The other two were against better teams, but tonight he was the difference in a game that meant an awful lot to the Auburn Family. And it was after a week full of criticism and doubt. Good for him.

There could still be another moment upcoming but I think this will be the game we all talk about when anyone brings up Bo.

More about him willing the team to a win tonight. Oregon he did on the last drive but his overall game performance wasn’t great. Bama game he did enough but I think the 2 pick 6’s were the story

Gotta say tonight. He has never seen an Auburn victory in Baton Rouge, then he goes in and breaks the streak. Played an incredible game.

If it comes down to “Bo’s best” - it’s definitely last night, he put the entire team on his back & personally gave them an adrenaline shot! He was a leader that they could get behind & a true team emerged!!! @BoNix10

Tonight. He played out of his mind with his job on the line.

In what was the first victory over a Power Five program in 2021, Nix provided the emotional lift that TJ Finley did last week for Auburn football.
When it’s all said and done, if the Tigers don’t end up sniffing the College Football Playoff in the next two years, earning such an elusive victory in hostile territory over the second most recent national champion should prove to be Nix’s most impressive victory under center.
