Best Auburn football opposing player left in ’21: Alabama OL Evan Neal

Evan Neal is a consensus #1 NFL Draft pick due to his promise to be one of the best prospects at left tackle in a long time.

Sayre Bedinger of NFL Spin Zone gushed about Neal and projected him to be the #1 pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars, seeing him as a big band-aid for an ailing franchise:

"Alabama’s Evan Neal is one of the freakiest athletes you will probably ever see at the college level. He has proven himself to be not just a great athlete, but a dominant left tackle as well. If Jacksonville winds up with the number one pick, you can probably take a position other than QB to the bank and Neal might be the best non-QB in this class."

Neal has allowed Brian Robinson Jr. to have the season of his life in the Alabama backfield and is part of the reason Bryce Young has been able to dice up defenses with plenty of time to make decisions in the pocket.

Everything Alabama does on offense, all of the dominance, all the big plays, it’s all a byproduct of the protection Neal provides. He’s sure to make a lot of money doing that at the next level after he leaves the Alabama machine.
