Auburn football: 2 offensive Tigers most essential for the rest of the 2021 season
The 2021 Auburn football season has gone well to this point, considering the Tigers’ two losses are to the #1 and #7 teams in the AP Top 25.
Sure, AU’s secondary was diced up by Penn State QB Sean Clifford and their backfield was swallowed up Georgia. But those memories have already faded away with a critical triumph this past weekend and a gauntlet that could lead to an SEC Championship berth at the end of it should the winning ways continue.
Following a 15-point win over Arkansas this past Saturday is a nice bye week breather during Week 8 of the college football season.
Auburn’s remaining opponents in the SEC West will wage war with several rivalry games, though. Ole Miss, their Week 9 opponent, will be on the road in Death Valley taking on a potentially rejuvenated LSU program that just announced that the 2021 season will be the swan song for ‘Coach O’.
Alabama, the co-leaders in the SEC West, will be hosting Tennessee at home after one of the biggest games on Rocky Top in recent memory. And mainly for the wrong reasons.
Meanwhile, others in the SEC West will have pretty easy weeks with Texas A&M hosting South Carolina and Mississippi State visiting Vanderbilt.
