Auburn football plays LSU every year in typically heated SEC West matchups between the Tigers of the Plains in East Central Alabama and the Tigers of the Bayou down in the Louisiana swamps.

The fans of each program have no lingering hatred for each other when the two teams aren’t playing. Both cities are gracious hosts to the opposite fanbases. And most fanbases in general, though Alabama fans slight side-eyes in both. Deservedly so.

But one Auburn beat writer has all of the loathing for one program’s pattern of decisions one can possibly have.

Check out AL.com’s Joseph Goodman’s scorched earth assessment of LSU’s most recent hires (Ed Orgeron, Les Miles) and where they may go next after parting ways with ‘Coach O’:

"LSU replaced Saban with Les Miles and it replaced Miles with Ed Orgeron. High on charisma and low on integrity is the trend I’m seeing, so whoever’s the biggest Sleazeball Bozo All-Conference Creepy Hands Team MVP among the candidates probably has a pretty good shot at being the next guy to walk away with a multi-million dollar golden parachute funded by donations of the blindly faithful and obscenely rich."

My word…

It’s not a secret now that Orgeron was just about as dysfunctional as a coach could be. Quite cringey anecdotes arose from the ashes of the firing:

"The Baton Rouge reporter said a source told WBRZ there have been multiple LSU Tigers football practices where “girlfriends” were present. At one point children and women took part in football drills during practice, the report said."

And given what we’ve come to learn about Miles–which we simply won’t talk about due to its graphic nature–it’s fair to question the program’s background checks.

Luckily Auburn football has a high-character HC in Bryan Harsin just as they did during the Gus Malzahn era.
