Auburn football: 5-star LB Drayk Bowen could commit to AU next month
It has come down to just three schools for 5-star linebacker Drayk Bowen, who will pick between Notre Dame, Clemson, and Auburn football on November 7. Bowen, a member of the recruiting class of 2023, is currently the #2 linebacker and the #1 player out of the state of Indiana.
The linebacker visited the Plains once in June and again in October for the Georgia game and came away very impressed with the Tigers’ program. Also important to Bowen? The baseball program, which he got a chance to explore during his visit, per Keith Niebuhr:
"“Really loved my time there — and getting to talk with baseball (coaches and players) was one of the highlights of the trip,” Bowen told Auburn Undercover on Friday."
Bowen will visit Notre Dame–currently considered to be his top school and the leader in the LB’s Crystal Ball Prediction–before making his final decision next month. Bowen has strong relationships with Fighting Irish staffers Marcus Freeman and Chad Bowden, but the Auburn football staff isn’t losing the LB without a fight.
While Bowen has been a regular in South Bend during his recruitment, it is important to note that the Tigers could still win over the linebacker with the promise of being able to play both football and baseball for Auburn.
The Tigers currently have no commits for the recruiting class of 2023, and 5-star linebacker Drayk Bowen would be a nice way to kick things off. The football coaching staff spent their bye week recruiting hard, extending offers to numerous 2023 athletes all over the country.
It will be a battle to November 7 for Auburn football and Notre Dame, but either team will be getting a heck of a ballplayer out of Drayk Bowen.
