Auburn football has begun a new winning streak after consecutive victories against Arkansas on the road and Ole Miss at Jordan-Hare Stadium this past Saturday, with a bye week sandwiched between.

AL.com, a publication few would ever accuse of having an Auburn slant, believes AU’s time as a top-three SEC team is about to come to an end.

In his latest Week 10 prediction of the #13 Tigers’ pivotal showdown against Texas A&M at Kyle Field, AL.com’s Christopher Smith suggested fading Auburn football this coming Saturday at the current spread (-4.5).

Christopher Smith believes in the bye week helping Ryan Caldaza’s passing game as he continues to acclimate to the Aggies offense. He also wonders if Vegas and the general public is over-rating the Tigers this week:

"I think the betting market is overvaluing Auburn because the Tigers are 3-1 ATS in their last four games with some slightly misleading final scores.I have Texas A&M as three points better on a neutral field. But given home-field advantage off a bye week and an advantageous matchup against Auburn’s offense, I think Texas A&M -4.5 is a good bet."

Ultimately, it comes down to whether or not Bo Nix and Tank Bigsby could have their way with a Texas A&M defense that has performed at a top 30 level in yards given up. The Aggies D is also one of eight in the country that have given up 15 or fewer touchdowns.

But when it comes to that intangible college football momentum that gives you the fall warm and fuzzy’s, this Auburn team is starting to heat up as one of the most significant risers in the country. They’ve knocked off all SEC West comers whether at Jordan-Hare Stadium or somewhere west…no matter the spread.

The Tigers are a good plus money bet against any opponent right now, but particularly one that has never beaten Auburn on its home field.
