One of the best Auburn football traditions on the Plains is rolling Toomer’s Corner after a big football win. While every football victory calls for toilet papering the trees, big events for other sports–like Women’s Golf winning the SEC title–are deemed deserving, too.

However, in recent years it has become popular for people to head to Toomer’s Corner for victories not related to Auburn athletics. The most recent example came last night when the Atlanta Braves secured the World Series with a huge shutout in Game 6.

Because the state of Alabama is not home to any major league baseball teams, most of the MLB fans over the Peach State’s west border are loyal to the Braves. It was a crazy season and a resounding victory for the Braves, but does it call for turning the corner white?

Most Auburn football fans on Twitter seem to be of the opinion that rolling the trees should be reserved only for Auburn-related victories, and were unhappy to see fans rushing the corner last night:

However, there are others that think the World Series is a big enough reason to roll. Some claim a Braves victory is technically Auburn-related due to former Auburn baseball player and current pitching coach Tim Hudson’s time on the team:

Auburn football fans can hopefully look forward to rolling the trees four more times for their Tigers this season.
