If Auburn football is going to appear in the SEC Championship game, it will be because they go on a three-game winning streak to close out the 2021 season following a 20-3 loss to Texas A&M last weekend.

Such a winning streak would have to begin today against Mississippi State, who visits Jordan-Hare Stadium today at 11 A.M.

Losing to a second set of SEC Bulldogs in 2021 at home would be the death knell for any grand ambitions this season. Do the Tigers take care of business as the betting favorites?

Let’s take a look at the Auburn football betting lines, odds, and TV information while laying a few predictions on the line (all lines courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook):

Mississippi State vs. Auburn Pick and Prediction

This will be a fascinating battle of quarterbacks, with both Bo Nix and Will Rogers serving as lightning rods and even scapegoats for their respective teams.

Nix is a bit more boom-or-bust than Rogers–with his booms being less explosive yet somehow more spectacular and his busts being even more soul-crushing–having registered two games with a completion rate of below 50%. Both of those were hapless losses, to Georgia Week 6 and Texas A&M last Saturday.

Rogers, on the other hand, has thrown less 300 yards just one time this season, and it was in a win against the current #17 team, North Carolina State. That said, he has eight interceptions in nine games.

The Bulldogs defense has been solid by and large in recent weeks, and pose a test to a Tigers offense that gained no traction at College Station a week ago.

But Bryan Harsin’s team has yet to lose two in a row this season, and Spirit’s final stadium flight won’t be the precursor to defeat.

It may be close, but Auburn is not losing this game.

Pick: Auburn ML (-200)
