The thought of Auburn football playing in the SEC Championship game is not unlike any lingering ideas in one’s head about getting back together with an ex.

Sure, it could still make you think there is hope, but in reality, you should probably just move on from it. That said, the possibility of it happening still exists in the universe, as pesky as it is.

The Tigers are not mathematically eliminated from representing the SEC West in the conference championship game yet after losing their second straight to Mississippi State in horrifying fashion.

David Hale of ESPN shared the path to Auburn football making the SEC title game in Atlanta, and it sure would make for quite the final two weeks of the 2021 regular season:

One Tiger fan were simply fed up with the idea of getting their hopes up once more after a rocky first season for Bryan Harsin and co.:

But the general consensus was to keep the hope alive:

Arkansas beating Alabama seems like the most unlikely result of the seven, but if rumors of a certain starting signal-caller on the Plains being out for the remainder of the year are true, it may prove to be a difficult two-game stretch for Auburn as well.
