Auburn football RB Shaun Shivers

With a potential shift to more running against South Carolina and Alabama–who let up over 100 yards to LSU’s Tyrion Davis-Price, potentially mapping out the blueprint for an Auburn ground assault–all Tiger running backs could be in line to benefit.

The senior Shaun Shivers may get a chance to show out and do something spectacular as the third threat in the backfield in the final two games of the season. If he doesn’t make good on his extra year of eligibility from COVID-19, perhaps Shivers ends his career on the Plains with pizazz.

Auburn football WR Elijah Canion

Elijah Canion started the 2021 offseason with a ton of hype from a strong 2020 debut in the Citrus Bowl and another notable showing during A-Day.

He has been a non-factor this season, having only caught a pass in non-conference play, and even then only amassing four catches and 46 receiving yards in three games.

So why is he listed as a potential breakout threat you may ask? Well, against Georgia State during TJ Finley’s one high-usage performance, Canion was one of the six-foot-six gunslinger’s favorite targets.

Canion is a late-bloomer, and he may be able to break out during the stretch run of the schedule yet again with Finley under center.
