Auburn football offensive coordinator Mike Bobo is not the most popular guy at the moment after yet another instance of him ignoring his physical short-yardage specialists in the backfield in favor of a pass play on fourth and short.

Tiger fans have not yet forgotten his infamous fourth and goal play-call at the two-yard line that saw Bo Nix throw an incomplete pass on a fade route to Kobe Hudson in the back of the end zone.

On Saturday night in the first half, the Tigers had just given up a Zaquandre White receiving touchdown to South Carolina that swung the momentum at Williams-Brice Stadium in favor of the Gamecocks before Bobo had TJ Finley–starting for the first time as the man under center for Auburn football–throw an incomplete deep-ball to turn the ball over on downs. Gamecocks QB Jason Brown threw another TD toss, this time to OL Trai Jones for three yards.

The Auburn family was beside themselves after the play-calling gaffe:

Patience is wearing thin with this Auburn football coaching staff in year one of the Bryan Harsin era on the Plains.
