Auburn football transfer portal target #2: Oregon WR Mycah Pittman

One of the biggest question marks coming into the 2021 seasons for the Tigers was the WR room, and those questions had varying answers throughout the year.

Against Georgia, the receiving core dropped pass after pass and drew the ire of Tiger fans that were hoping for more Bo Nix magic following Auburn’s first win in Death Valley over LSU since 1999.

Other times, Demetris Robertson, Ja’Varrius Johnson, Kobe Hudson, and Shedrick Jackson all alternated being the featured pass-catcher in the offense. John Samuel Shenker delivered from the tight end position as well.

The depth chart is set to take a hit this offseason, as Shenker, Robertson and Jackson are seniors and could be making their final Jordan-Hare Stadium appearance this coming Saturday at the Iron Bowl.

Enter Mycah Pittman.

Pittman isn’t a star by any means, but he can add depth to a WR room that could hopefully get a step forward from Hudson, Johnson, and even guys like Ze’Vian Capers and Malcom Johnson Jr.

Currently, it appears that USC is in the lead, per Farrell:

"I feel Pittman will stay west so that means USC could have the distinct advantage here but other schools will get involved. He certainly has the skillset to impact immediately with good speed and he’s a powerful kid. It’s surprising he didn’t pan out at Oregon."

If Pittman does decide to take his talents to the best conference in the country, though, there’s not a better place to call home in the SEC than the Plains.
