In the wake of Auburn football QB Bo Nix ‘weighing all his options’ following what was on pace to be career-year, cut short by an ankle injury during a Week 11 loss to Mississippi State, many are trying to decipher where the legacy signal-caller could be headed next if his time on the Plains is over with.

Fansided’s John Buhler came up with five destinations, just as Fly War Eagle did. While there was overlap in our Cincinnati/Ole Miss choices, there was quite an interesting divergence in the other three.

For us, any move for Nix couldn’t be a lateral one considering his undying love for Auburn and his Tiger pride. That’s why we listed the likes of Oklahoma, Florida, and LSU, as options. While sure, the instability of those schools at the moment make those borderline steps back for the Pinson, Alabama product, all three current Power Five programs have won a National Championship in their storied histories, with at least one coming since the dawn of the century.

Two of Buhler’s options, though, currently reside in a Group of Five conference (AAC) and the other is a perennial doormat in the SEC despite beating Auburn football the past two seasons.

FanSided tabbed UCF, SMU, and South Carolina as transfer options for Auburn football QB Bo Nix.

UCF and SMU both own ties to Nix through their head coaches. UCF, of course, hired Gus Malzahn, the head coach that recruited Nix to the Plains, after he was dismissed as the Tigers head coach a year ago. SMU just hired Rhett Lashlee, and while he wasn’t the OC in charge when Nix committed, he was present when contact began between the former 5-star dual-threat and AU in the recruitment process.

South Carolina is a bit of a wild card here. Shane Beamer has been rumored for other jobs, and the Gamecocks represent a step down in the same conference. While SC needs a QB, don’t expect Nix to be the next answer under center in Columbia, South Carolina.

FWE fully supports Nix in whatever he decides, but overwhelmingly hopes staying in Auburn is his choice.
