WR Prospect trending towards Auburn football #2: Darrius Clemons

The recruitment of 4-star wide receiver Darrius Clemons has been quite a rollercoaster. For a while, it seemed certain that the Oregon native would be moving across the country to join Auburn football’s 2022 roster, but when the Ducks lost two major WR commitments they turned the heat up and it seemed all hopes of Clemons donning orange and blue were lost.

However, with the recent coaching drama taking place at Oregon, it seems the Tigers are back on top for Clemons. Nothing shakes things up quite like your future head coach leaving for Miami, right?

Because Clemons is an early enrollee and plans to sign on December 15, the remaining or new staff at Oregon will have very little time to warm up to Clemons. 247 Sports reports that Auburn football wide receivers coach Eric Kiesau will make an in-home visit to Clemons this week and that the WR has begun communicating with Auburn recruits a lot more over the past week.

It’s likely that Clemons will take no more officials before signing, and that his choices are truly down to Auburn and Oregon, but things are looking good for Coach Harsin and the Tigers.
