Auburn basketball doesn’t go head to head with the Tennessee Volunteers until February 2022, but now everyone will be counting down the days until the matchup. Things got a little more interesting when Devan Cambridge got involved in the slander of former Auburn player Justin Powell, who transferred to Rocky Top last season.

Powell entered the transfer portal last March after playing just 10 games his freshman season due to a concussion he suffered in January. He averaged 11.7 points, 4.7 assists, and 6.1 rebounds in those 10 games, but ultimately decided to transfer to Tennessee.

However, fans pointed out on Twitter that so far this season, Powell isn’t doing anything special for the Volunteers while Auburn basketball has been nothing short of special:

While Auburn fans certainly wish Powell the best in his career, it’s fair to say that there is definitely a bitterness surrounding the former Tiger. Would it be so bad for Auburn to have a fantastic game against Tennessee? One person pointed out how great it would be for Powell to get posterized, and Devan Cambridge appeared out of nowhere with a pledge to action:

Needless to say, the exit of Justin Powell only made room on Bruce Pearl’s roster for the guys like Walker Kessler, K.D. Johnson, and Wendell Green Jr. I think everyone is probably satisfied with the trade so far this season. Mark your calendars and count down the date until February 26 when the Tigers head to Tennessee to take on Justin Powell and the Vols.
