Auburn football: DD sees Georgia pursuing Tank Bigsby in transfer portal
Following the South Carolina loss, the borderline inarguable low-point of the season, Auburn football RB Tank Bigsby and the transfer portal became synonymous because of depressive talk from Tiger fans.
Clearly, the disconnect between the Georgia-born running back and the coaching staff went far deeper than that if the rumors of Bigsby taking to the transfer portal turn out to be true.
Though Mike Bobo was dismissed, things may still be untenable. There are scenarios that offer a better chance to contend for a National Championship while also offering a better chance to shine for NFL scouts.
Bigsby could simply be unwilling to wait and see what Bryan Harsin and co. can do on the recruiting trail to offer him the aforementioned perks.
Unfortunately, there is a certain rival in his home state that qualifies…
Dawgs Daily believes Georgia will pursue Auburn football RB Tank Bigsby in the transfer portal.
DD’s Brooks Austin believes Tank’s time is now to return home–though technically Hogansville is closer to the Plains than Athens, so we’re clear–with the Georgia Bulldogs having a void to be filled by an All-SEC caliber RB:
"Georgia chose to spend their resources and time elsewhere in 2020, but now, heading into an offseason before the 2022 season that sees them likely losing both Zamir White and James Cook — their two leading rushers from this season — one could imagine the time is now to pursue a talent like Bigsby."
Of course UGA wants Bigsby. Every collegiate football program at every level in the country (and beyond) should want a running back that has dominated at the highest level in CFB nicknamed Tank.
The Dawgs make extra sense for two main reasons:
- The homecoming angle is one that the national media will run into the ground at every chance, and…
- Why not kick Auburn football when it’s down? That’s what rivals do. Especially ones that bark at you in person.
This would be as bad, if not worse, than Bigsby taking his talents to Orlando to join Gus Malzahn at UCF.
But hey, there’s basketball!
