Auburn football transfer portal: BGB projects Bo Nix to UCF, Frank Ladson to Tigers
College football Twitter personality Big Game Boomer’s latest list of where various transfer portal entrants may land is one Auburn football fans are hoping has truths (and one big misfire) littered throughout.
BGB is projecting Clemson WR Frank Ladson, a Class of 2019 4-star out of Miami, to pick Auburn as his next home.
He’s also predicting Auburn football transfer portal entry Bo Nix to reunite with former Tigers HC Gus Malzahn with the UCF Knights in what would be an unmitigated disaster for the Auburn family.
Some other notable predictions include Alabama landing a pair of weapons for Bryce Young in Cam Johnson and Mycah Pittman and former Texas A&M QB Zach Calzada (the man that beat ‘Bama) joining Brian Kelly’s first LSU squad:
Let’s address the bad news first. If Nix were to head to UCF, it’d be a major blow to morale on the Plains. The ultimate Auburn man, who was seemingly born to lead the Tigers, heading east to Orlando to win with a coach AU dismissed is nightmarish.
Just go back in time a year and tell yourself back then that at the end of 2021, UCF would have a better record–even after losing to Navy and Louisville–than Auburn and take the Tigers’ starting QB. Past you is probably pissed at you for trolling them with a potential worst-case scenario.
Now, let’s address the good news. Yeah, full send on the lad Ladson joining the Auburn football program.
Ladson had an Auburn offer way back in 2017, and he joined Clemson after they were championship material. With many on Dabo Swinney’s staff jumping ship, Ladson is wise to do the same after being de-emphasized in three years with the Tigers from northwest South Carolina, collecting just 31 catches and six touchdowns over that time span.
Auburn needs receivers, and Landon needs a fresh start. Hard to poke holes in that prediction from BGB.
