Auburn football incoming freshman RB Damari Alston promises OL recruit
Incoming Auburn football Class of 2022 RB recruit Damari Alston has promised protection for himself and his Tigers backfield teammates.
The outspoken unofficial ‘recruiting director’ tweeted out simply “OL otw”, indicating that the offensive line will soon be bolstered with a big addition.
The “crootin’ finger” strikes again, folks.
And Tiger fans were overjoyed by the development:
Which OL will be the next Auburn football commitment?
Auburn High School’s own Bradyn Joiner, a 4-star Class of 2023 OL recruit that also plays DL, is announcing his commitment on New Year’s Day. He will be deciding between the Tigers and the Georgia Bulldogs.
It’d be quite the disappointing scene if one of Auburn’s own spurned AU for their Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry counterpart, but it’d be tough to blame him considering the annual dominance in the SEC East Kirby Smart has been able to siphon out of his guys year in and year out.
If Joiner isn’t the addition Alston is referring to, and instead the impending commit is one that will join the team this coming season, a pair of Virginia OTs are still sitting in the transfer portal without a next home: Bobby Haskins and Joseph Bissinger. McKade Mettauer out of Cal is also being actively recruited by Bryan Harsin and co.
Any OL addition would be a welcome sight for Tiger fans, who saw serious struggles for the unit opening up gaps in the run game and giving Bo Nix (and later TJ Finley) enough time in the pocket to make plays.
We’ll have to see where the “crootin’ finger” takes us all next.
