The jump that the Auburn football Class of 2022 has made in the recruitment rankings in recent weeks has been a breath of fresh air for the Tigers program.

2021 ended with a severely disappointing 0-4 mark in the final month, and the Tigers face an uphill climb taking on a ranked Houston team that only lost to Texas Tech (before their own season unraveled) and Cincinnati in the AAC Championship game.

Things were looking bleak following the firing of Mike Bobo at the conclusion of the campaign, but luckily Bryan Harsin, Derek Mason, Trovon Reed, and co. have been hitting the recruiting trail hard and have landed several impactful current high school seniors to their ranking, including Jeffrey M’ba, Austin Ausberry, and JaDarian Rhym.

What the Tigers are missing, though, is a boost to their OL, which was a sore spot many fans didn’t hesitate to go after this past season.

It’s been evident enough to the point that former (and forever) Auburn man and current NFLer Marquell Harrell commented on it:

Shaun Shivers, who just departed the program following his senior year and achievement of earning an Auburn University degree, agreed about liking the incoming freshman class:

Confidence in Auburn football moving forward is high due to the success of the “crootin’ finger”, a new AU meme that honors the trademark point Harsin has posed with in recruitment photos with the future Tigers he meets.

With the seal of approval from two former Tiger standouts, the Class of 2022 pushes forward with the promise that the one hole Harrell sees in the group, the OL, will be adding a big body in the coming days.
