Most everybody that follows football at any level has heard of the Antonio Brown situation by now. It’s a sad situation when viewed through an empathetic lens, which is how a pair of former Auburn football stars reacted.
Brown tore his jersey off and walked out on his now-former team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, during their 28-24 win over the New York Jets this past Sunday. Brown had gotten into it with Bucs WR Mike Evans on the sidelines and eventually threw his clothing into the stands at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The situation is one that has inspired plenty of jokes all over various social media cesspools, but the Auburn family took a different approach.
Here’s how a 2017 departure and a 2021 senior defensive captain, among Auburn football’s finest recent examples, tweeted in response to the incident:
Those laughing at Brown’s antics should remember that this was something that obviously negatively affected his current free agent situation, but also did a number to his financials:
This is really not a laughing manner.
Here’s to Antonio Brown finding peace and those that oppose touching grass.
