Auburn football Expected Visitor #2: Hunter Nourzad

Cornell transfer Hunter Nourzad has been one of the Tigers’ top transfer portal targets during the offseason, and he named Auburn football in his top five schools earlier this week, in addition to Virginia Tech, Iowa, Illinois, and Penn State.

The grad transfer originally hails from Marietta, Georgia, so the Tigers become the home-field option for Nourzad, per FWE co-expert Andrew Hughes:

"The Big Red graduate has narrowed his selection to five options, with the Tigers representing the only team within 125 miles of his hometown."

Auburn Undercover reports that Nourzad is likely to visit Auburn’s campus later in January and then make a final decision later in the spring.

Auburn football Expected Visitor #3: Mason Brooks

A former two-year starter for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, Mason Brooks entered the transfer portal looking to spend his last year of eligibility with a new program. The offensive lineman has heard from a long list of schools since entering the portal, but Auburn Live reports that the Tigers are the team to beat for the offensive tackle.

Brooks is a two-time All-conference selection and could make an immediate impact on Will Friend’s offensive line, but one program to watch out for is Texas Tech, the new home of Brooks’ former OC Zach Kittley. Although his roots in Texas could lead him to the Lone Star State, a visit with Auburn football could persuade him to bring his talents to the Plains.
