Auburn football fans have been dealing with the dominance of Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide and the more recent dominance of their Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry counterpart, Georgia, making it a pretty tough fandom to fathom.
The program’s own futility has only helped fuel the fires the past two seasons, but Tiger fans are starting to get a really bad rap because of how they behave online.
Quite frankly, some of it is deserved. That Bo Nix actually left the program after living a life where all roads led to the Plains and having one of the more impressive freshman seasons in recent memory is a travesty. Tank Bigsby almost left too, and we’ve seen former players like Big Kat Bryant have long-standing public grudges with the fanbase.
All of this led to former Auburn football stars sounding off on the matter on Twitter. Jordyn Peters tweeted several times on the issue:
Best worst fans in America https://t.co/kyc6GNJMhl

My teammates and I experienced all this first hand for years so it baffles me how many people who haven’t put the shoe on the other foot are trying to make it seem right😂

Peters got a shoutout from former teammate Anthony Schwartz for his stance:
Yo @KingPete_x you going off today I see👀🤣🤣

Current Tigers DT Marquis Burks added his two cents as well:
Lol only the strong survive😤, lol y’all do be on ten tho🤣 https://t.co/zVPbpZSe3O

Auburn basketball fans, you keep on loving that team and deep frying memes. Auburn football fans? You have upset the very players you dedicate so much support to.
