Recruitment is quickly coming to an end for the #8 running back in the recruiting class of 2022. As the clock winds down, Auburn football is very much in the mix for TreVonte Citizen, a 4-star RB out of Lake Charles, LA.

According to his post on Twitter, Citizen has narrowed down his choices to eight programs. Grambling State, Nebraska, USC, Florida, Miami, LSU, and Michigan State are all under consideration alongside Auburn football.

Once upon a time the RB was committed to LSU over Auburn, Texas A&M, and Texas, but reopened his recruitment in late November after the announcement that Coach O would not be returning to the program.

Citizen took an official visit to the Auburn football program back in June, but will return for an unofficial visit January 16-18. After that, the running back will be on the move, taking four other visits before making his final decision.

Following his stay on the Plains, Citizen will head to Florida on January 28 and will use his last official visit to check out Miami. He has already taken official visits to LSU, Texas, and Texas A&M in addition to Auburn, but is allowed another official to LSU due to the coaching change, per Auburn Live.

According to Citizen’s father Tony, his son is still undecided but is very high on Bryan Harsin’s team, per 247 Sports:

"“I know he likes Auburn,” Tony said, reiterating what his son told 247Sports at the All-American Bowl. ‘He likes the atmosphere around it.”"

Citizen will make his final decision on National Signing Day, coming up on February 2. Should the RB choose Auburn, he’ll be joining a talented group including Tank Bigsby and Jarquez Hunter, and he would be the second running back signed in the recruiting class of 2022 along with Damari Alston.
