Just days away from National Signing Day on February 2, Auburn football is preparing to add more recruits to their 2022 roster. One recruit the program is hopeful to sign is 2022 EDGE Jack Pyburn, but the Florida native’s recruitment just got a lot more interesting.

Pyburn has already taken two visits to Auburn’s campus, one official and one unofficial, in addition to an official visit with Miami. He publicly narrowed down his recruitment to the Tigers and the Canes, but in the days leading up to his announcement, another program has entered the mix.

The EDGE made it known on Twitter this morning that he will be squeezing in one last official visit before making his decision, and will be heading to the University of Florida this weekend:

Jeffrey Lee from Auburn Live reports that Miami head coach Mario Cristobal and two assistants made an in-home visit to Pyburn earlier this week, with Auburn football head coach Bryan Harsin and three assistants following suit the next day.

The 3-star is listed as the #36 EDGE in the recruiting class of 2022, and the #55 recruit out of the state of Florida, per 247 Sports, whose Crystal Ball Projection places him at Auburn. However, with new coach Billy Napier making a last-minute push to keep the EDGE in-state, the Tigers are going to have to work hard to keep Pyburn away from the Gators.

Fortunately, Harsin and his staff have worked hard to get a commitment from Pyburn, and they have made it clear that he could make an impact for the Tigers immediately, per Auburn Rivals:

"“It was mainly how much they want me and how good I could do under their system and how well Auburn fits me,” Pyburn said. “All the things that I agree on. All the things how they can make me successful and how I can be extremely successful at Auburn.”"

Jack Pyburn is set to make his official decision on National Signing Day, and though he narrowed down his list to Miami and Auburn football, we can’t count Florida out of the race just yet.
