The 2022 NFL Draft is just months away, and the pro league is now gearing up for its official scouting event, which will include one former and three current Auburn football players. The event will take place March 1-7, and over 300 top prospects will head to Indianapolis to show off their skills.

The former Auburn football player invited to the combine is Malik Willis, who transferred from the Plains to Liberty University in 2019. The former Tiger has been projected as the first quarterback to go in the 2022 Draft by CBS Sports.

Also invited to the NFL Combine is potential first-round pick, Roger McCreary. The Auburn football cornerback finished up his senior season strongly with 49 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack in addition to 14 pass breakups and two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. The cornerback also received All-American honors and participated in the Reese’s Senior Bowl in his hometown of Mobile, AL.

The Tigers’ second invite went out to linebacker Zakoby McClain, who was a key piece in Auburn football’s secondary in 2021 after an injury kept Owen Pappoe on the sidelines for much of the season. Finishing his season as Auburn’s leading tackler, McClain recorded 95 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, and six pass breakups.

The last Auburn football representative at the 2022 NFL Combine will be safety Smoke Monday. A starter for the Tigers during the last two seasons, Monday was named second-team Preseason All-SEC and served as a game captain during Auburn’s matchup with Mississippi State. Monday finished up his senior season with 63 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, two sacks, one interception, and five pass breakups.

The NFL Combine will be the perfect time for these Tigers to show the scouts what they’re made of and work to secure their future in the league.
