Auburn football fans are certainly on edge right now given all of the Bryan Harsin hoopla surrounding the program.

Stress could be getting the better of them…or they may not be so crazy re: comments Gus Malzahn made at a UCF press conference.

“Everything’s in alignment. That’s really a huge key to having a chance to win a championship if you’re a football coach…”

Auburn Twitter great Pablo Escobarner pointed it out and got the dialogue going:

Malzahn had a rough start in 2021 in his first year in Orlando. The Knights lost two of their first three games against FBS competition and were 3-3 at the halfway point. They also lost star QB Dillon Gabriel for the year, and he’s now in Oklahoma.

UCF pulled an Auburn football inverse, though, and finished the season strong. Gabriel’s replacement Mikey Keene stepped up and helped lead them to a 9-4 record after a Gasparilla Bowl victory over the Florida Gators to claim Sunshine State supremacy in what was a down year for Florida collegiate football outside of Orange County, Florida.

AU lost their last five games after a promising start. Close games never went their way, and the Board of Trustees is investigating Bryan Harsin for everything under the sun to fire him with cause.

It’s an ugly scene.

It’s so ugly that Malzahn is feeling good about his present and sneaking in snipes at the school that dismissed him and then continued to be a toxic environment afterwards.
