The drama surrounding the Auburn football head coaching position and whether or not Bryan Harsin will still maintain it hits hard for a few different reasons.

First and foremost is the Deja vu feeling of it all. In 2021, Kevin Steele was rumored to be in the mix for the head coaching job after working behind the scenes to get the head coaching position vacated by Gus Malzahn.

It’s 2022, and we’re back at it again. Yet another groundhog day on the Plains with a different head coach on the chopping block.

The second reason this stings quite a bit is that Harsin seemed to genuinely love being the head coach of the Auburn football team. He inspired a wave of upperclassmen to return in 2022 and returned a genuine excitement the program hadn’t felt in the final year of Malzahn in charge.

Harsin has his disciples in the AU fanbase, and they are standing in his corner even ahead of the university they cheer for. Tiger fans are taking to Twitter to voice their support for the Boise native:

It feels like it’s been months since this saga began but it’s been about a week.

Fly War Eagle is looking forward to this being resolved either way so the program can move on from this ugly period of time.
